Tourmaline Gemstone
The best Tourmalines come from Brazil which is the leading source of Tourmalines. Brazil is known for
producing nearly every color. Brazilian stones are generally more expensive and have stronger color
saturations.
BLUE Tourmaline
Blue Tourmalines are very rare, uniquely beautiful and are some of the most valuable
Tourmalines. The light blue version is called “Indicolite”. Its shimmering shades are like the
flow of water.
In crystal healing it is believed that the blue Tourmaline is used to activate the Throat chakra to
open your communication channels. It is an encouraging stone, helping you gather your courage
and speak the truth.
GREEN Tourmaline (Verdelite)
Green is regarded as the classical Tourmaline color. There are especially wonderful Tourmalines
in the range of blue green to dark bottle green. The bottle-green comes almost exclusively from
Brazil and they are often referred to as “Brazilian Tourmaline”. These are the best colors. They
are rare and much sought after.
A Spanish Knight believed he had unearthed an Emerald in Brazil, but it turned out to be a
variety of a glowing green Tourmaline.
In crystal healing it is believed that the green Tourmaline opens the heart, allowing it to perceive
what the Third Eye chakra visualizes, teaches compassion.
PINK Tourmaline
Brazilian pink Tourmaline showcases a gorgeous cocktail of fuchsia, magenta and roseate pinks.
The pink Tourmaline is a stone of love and compassion.
It is believed that this stone is a strong healing stone due to it commonly being formed within
Quartz masses. Quartz naturally amplifies any stone placed near it.
SALMON Tourmaline
Brazilian Salmon Tourmaline showcases gorgeous natural pinkish orange to light pink colors, in
a range of beautiful saturations and tones. Brazil is forever synonymous with this gem. With little
to no inclusion they are globally scarce, but even more so from the heavily worked Aracuai Gem
Fields in Brazil.
Highly coveted for their signature, natural pinkish orange, these exceptional Brazilian Salmon
Tourmalines feature a classic, historic quality pedigree.
YELLOW to BROWN Tourmaline (dravites)
The Dravite Tourmalines come in colors from dark orange-brown to a yellow color. The most
famous yellow Tourmaline is called “Canary” after the canary bird found in the wild.
It is believed that the yellow Tourmaline promotes creativity and mental clarity and is also
thought to be helpful for those who suffer from anxiety or depression. In addition to its
psychological benefits, it is said that yellow Tourmaline helps to boost the immune system and
promote detoxification.
WHITE or COLORLESS Tourmaline (Achroite)
The Achroite Tourmaline is a white or colorless stone. Achroite means colorless in Greek. This
clear stone is a rare version of Tourmaline, especially when it is found without inclusions.
In crystal healing, Achroite is used similar to clear quartz for aura cleansing and opening the
crown chakra.
